Philip Badenhorst

Through his paintings Phillip Badenhorst attempts to delve into the subconscious workings of the mind, with regards especially to emotional and intuitive processes. In theory, Badenhorst falls into the area of Romantic Expressionism and often employs a solitary figure in an open landscape to explore the themes of loneliness and estrangement.

Philip Badenhorst was born in 1957 on a farm in the Western Transvaal. Badenhorst’s career as painter includes 33 solo exhibitions and he participated in more than 100 group exhibitions in South Africa and abroad since 1981.
