Alastair Whitton at African Photography Biennial

Alastair Whitton recently participated in the 8th edition of the Bamako Encounters, African Photography Biennial, Borders. The exhibition was first shown in Mali, after which it travelled to FotoMuseum in Antwerp. It will also be hosted by the Johannesburg Art Gallery in July 2010 and The South African National Gallery in Cape Town from October 2010.

Tactility: denial and desire

In the flesh is an exhibition of paintings by Thomasin Dewhurst and bronze sculptures by Cobus Haupt. The juxtaposition of the two artists’ work presents an exploration of a particular textural aesthetic that both approach in different ways. Specifically, the exhibition highlights the ways that the human body is represented.
